Last week the Prophet nailed 5/5 with his a-league tips. If you put $50 on each of his tips you would have started with $250 and finished up with $436.50. A solid $186.50 of pure profit. Much better than earning interest in the bank.
Sydney FC V Wellington Phoenix:
Top of the table Sydney FC will be looking to further continue their un-beaten run against Wellington this week. It is well known that Sydney are the best defensive side in the competition, however over the past few weeks the Phoenix have consistently managed to hit the scoreboard. Sydney FC should be too strong but i don’t see them being able to hold a clean sheet this week.
Adelaide United V Perth Glory:
Perth Glory were clinical in their last match against Newcastle Jets, they weren’t allowed many shots on target (11) but somehow managed to produce 3 goals. Perth will be eager to climb their way back into the top four, a win in this fixture being crucial. Last week i mentioned that Adelaide United managed 27 shots on target in match day 17 yet failed to claim all three points. Perth Glory will not allow Adelaide to get anywhere near that amount of shots this week. Perth at $2.90 is tremendous value and i’ll definitely be backing this one.
Melbourne City V Brisbane Roar:
The Melbourne Derby has completely altered this match. Melbourne City will be without marquee player Tim Cahill who was suspended last week. Brisbane played out a 0-0 draw against the league leaders and showed plenty of promise. Brisbane coach John Aloisi has a excellent opportunity to end his 14 game winless streak at AAMI Park, given Melbourne City’s extraordinary list of absentees. Bruno Fornaroli, Luke Brattan, Dean Bouzanis and of course Tim Cahill will all be sidelined in this match. It is bad timing for Melbourne City who will be keen to climb the a-league ladder. Brisbane are a formidable outfit and should walk over a depleted City side without much trouble.
Western Sydney Wanderers V Central Coast Mariners:
Central Coast have recorded back to back victories against Adelaide United and Perth Glory over the past fortnight. Tony Popovic’s side will also bring great confidence into this encounter, having won the last meeting 4-1. Western Sydney Wanderers are undefeated in their last five games against the Mariners (W4, D1). They have scored 4+ goals in 2 of these past matches. Western Sydney are clinical in front of goal, they will have their chances and i’m expecting them to convert them.
Newcastle Jets V Melbourne Victory:
Melbourne Victory came from behind to pinch a 2-1 victory over the arch rival last week to snap a losing streak. The Jets have continually been hitting the scoreboard over the past few weeks, whilst Melbourne Victory’s attacking presence has declined over the same period. I’ll easily be backing the overs in this one!
