The Prophet’s Hyundai A-League predictions have been on the money over the past two weeks. Each and every one of his tips have been winning ones.
Here are his predictions for MatchDay 13:
Sydney FC V Brisbane Roar:
Sydney FC’s dominant league run is truly astonishing, they currently sit at the top of the table with 9 wins and 3 draws. Last week they defeated Adelaide United 4-0 and the week before that they humiliated Perth Glory 4-1 in-front of their home crowd. Sydney FC are also the best defensive club in the league, having only conceded 5 goals in 12 matches. Brisbane Roar will no doubt have their eyes set on this match. Earlier in the week Brisbane captain, Matt McKay rubbished Sydney FC being “invincible” stating that they will drop a game at some point and his team are good enough to pull it off. It is also worth noting that Brisbane have scored at-least one goal in 11 out of their 12 league matches this season. Brisbane will be searching for the back of the net and will find it!
Central Coast Mariners V Melbourne City:
Central Coast Mariners and Melbourne City are both winless since MatchDay 8. City have drawn 3 and lost 1 out of their past four matches whilst the Mariners have lost 4 consecutive games. Melbourne City will be eager to get back to their winnings ways and should be able to defeat Central Coast at Bluetongue Stadium. Melbourne City have allowed the opposing team to score at least one goal in eleven out of their 12 league matches so far this season. Expect Central Coast to put up a fight, but City will be too strong.
Wellington Phoenix V Adelaide United:
The first Hyundai A-League match of 2017 will see eight place Wellington Phoenix come up against bottom of the table Adelaide United. The reds have only managed a mere 6 points so far this season out of a possible 36 and are in danger of completing the worst-ever Hyundai A-League title defence. Adelaide managed to defeat Wellington 2-0 in Matchday 9, but i don’t see them being able to hold off a newly revived Wellington side this fixture. Wellington have scored 7 goals in their past 3 league matches and will continue their impressive scoring this week against bottom of the table United.
Western Sydney Wanderers Vs Perth Glory:
Perth Glory have been under-performing over the past month, partly due to the absence of their playmaker Diego Castro. He scored 2 pivotal goals against Melbourne City last week, helping his side secure a 3-3 draw. WSW are specialists at finding the back of the net but Perth Glory’s attacking stocks will also threaten their defence. I’d expect both teams to score ($1.48) easily, but Perth haven’t won in over 5 fixtures and the double chance is a must.
Melbourne Victory V Newcastle Jets:
Melbourne Victory are in a rich vein of form, having won 4 and drawn 1 out of their last five league fixtures. Their impressive attacking capabilities were put on display last week against Central Coast where they claimed a 4-1 victory at AAMI Park. Newcastle have been improving immensely over the past few weeks and will test Kevin Muscat’s side. Newcastle are a quality side and i’m confident they can score at-least one goal against the home side.
