Last week the Prophet scored 6/6 with his A-League tips. He correctly predicted that an improving Newcastle Jets side ($3.00) would be too strong for last year’s A-League champions, Adelaide United.
Brisbane Roar V Western Sydney Wanderers:
Brisbane Roar are unbeaten in their past nine league encounters. The Prophet warned everyone two weeks ago that Brisbane were hungry for victories after drawing four consecutive matches. Since then they’ve won two straight, scoring 4 and 2 goals respectively. On Friday night they face off against the Western Sydney Wanderers who are specialists at finding the back of the net. They have scored in all but two of their matches this season, only Melbourne Victory have held a clean sheet against them. Both teams will find the back of the net at Suncorp Stadium on Friday night.
Once again CrownBet are offering a great Friday night promotion, back a winner and if your team loses you’ll get your stake back in rewards points. Brisbane have been specialists of walking away with points but John Aloisi’s men have finally gotten a taste of success and won’t be letting go of it lightly. Brisbane to make it 3 wins in a row.
Newcastle Jets V Wellington Phoenix:
Newcastle have been in some red-hot form over the past few weeks. Their success directly correlates to the performance of Andrew Nabbout. When Nabbout is playing his best football, Newcastle are extremely hard to beat. Wellington have only managed the three victories this season and will be eager to gradually ascend up the table. It is worth noting that 8 out of the last 9 encounters between these two sides has resulted in 3+ goals being scored. Both teams have dangerous attacking players such as Andrew Nabbout (NEW) and Kosta Barbarouses (WEL) who will make it difficult for opposition defenders. Lock this one in for over 2.5+
Adelaide United V Sydney FC:
Sydney FC are cruising at the moment, they currently sit at the top of the a-league table with eight wins and three draws from 11 games. Sydney steamrolled Perth Glory 4-1 last week and will be warm favourites to walk away with the three points against bottom of the table, Adelaide United. Five out of the past six clashes between these two clubs have seen 2+ match goals scored. Furthermore, Sydney haven’t beaten Adelaide since May 2015. Expect this to change when they meet on boxing day.
Melbourne City V Perth Glory:
Melbourne City have taken their foot off the pedal over the past month, only managing the one win and failing to keep a clean sheet since the opening round. Perth’s form is nothing special, however, they will take great confidence into this match having beat City 3-2 in October. Andy Keogh looms as a big threat to the Melbourne City defence, last time they faced off he netted three goals and claimed the three points for his side. Melbourne City struggle to keep clean sheets and Perth have some excellent attacking players, expect both teams to score in this one.
Melbourne Victory V Central Coast Mariners:
Melbourne Victory will be looking to claim all three points and gradually climb their way up the Hyundai A-League table. It is worth noting that Central Coast haven’t defeated Melbourne Victory in the league since the 14th of April 2013. Furthermore, seven out of the past eight matches have seen 3+ goals scored. These trends are likely to continue on Wednesday night, the attacking power of Besart Berisha and Marco Rojas will no doubt produce goals.
